Rice farmers in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, are raising concerns about a potential poor harvest this season due to persistent rainfall and widespread flooding across the state. The farmers, speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, warned that the situation is threatening the 2025 rice production cycle and could lead to a significant price increase for local rice.
