In a significant move towards harmony, the Executive Council Chairman of Edda, Hon. Chima Ekumankama has successfully brokered peace among the Ndi Ibe Ewuali, Ndi Ibe Anuma, and Amiyi Ebiri Autonomous Community regarding a longstanding land dispute.
According a post on one of his handles, Earlier this year, a conflict arose between the Amiyi Ebiri Autonomous Community and Engr. Orji Oke Ukaegbu over land ownership that has affected community relations for years.

Demonstrating a commitment to peace and resolution, the council set up an independent committee, led by Hon. Godwin Akaji and Chief Abia Onyike, to investigate the matter and draft a white paper in accordance with Edda customs.
The committee concluded that Amiyi, as part of Edda, does not own land collectively; ownership resides with individual matrilineal homes. It ruled that the land purchased by Engr. Orji Oke Ukaegbu was legitimately acquired, giving him full rights to use and manage the property without contention.
To maintain peace and community stability, the committee recommended that Engr. Ukaegbu is permitted to utilize the land freely, lifting any previous stop work orders imposed by the council.
Ekumankama urges all affected parties to respect this resolution and adhere to peaceful coexistence. He warned that any acts of property destruction or violence will not be tolerated and will face severe legal consequences.
