The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has suspended its warning strike, two days after it began, “following commitments by the federal government to address key demands.” The strike, which started on Friday morning, was called off on Saturday night, with members instructed to resume work on Sunday. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) says two visually impaired students missing from a school in Ebonyi for three months have been found and handed over to their parents. Mr Christopher Okorie, Coordinator of the NHRC, Ebonyi Directorate, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abakaliki. Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru, has rewarded Jeremiah Obaji with N10 million for trekking 633 km from Lagos to Abakaliki. The 37-year-old businessman undertook the journey on 22 August, to show solidarity with Governor Nwifuru’s peace initiatives in the Effium/Ezza-Effium community of Ohaukwu Local Government Area, which was affected by violent conflicts since January 2021.
